How the idea was born?
Ten years ago, our founder Armands embarked on a Norwegian adventure with his family. Seeking absolute freedom and avoiding typical travel restrictions, they chose a traditional rental camper. Unfortunately, the trip was full of challenges. Hindered by the camper’s impractical size and difficult handling, they faced two traffic accidents within 10 days. The family also struggled with unpleasant propane gas odor inside the camper.
As if that wasn’t enough, the storage compartment lock suddenly stopped working. To access their belongings and food, they had to crawl through a narrow, impractical emergency passage during the entire journey. The broken lock also prevented them from enjoying a group bike ride, as the bicycles were physically impossible to remove. Many seemingly useful features, like the toilet and shower, were never used.
Ultimately, Armands concluded that although the sights were enjoyable, he wouldn’t repeat the experience with a traditional camper.
Years later, Armands decided to give camper travel another chance, as a furry friend had joined the family. In search of options to travel together with their puppy, they realized nothing was more practical than a campervan. Determined to avoid past mistakes, Armands thoroughly researched the market and chose the legendary, latest-generation Volkswagen California campervan. Known worldwide as the stylish VW Bus, Bus, Cali, or Bulli for over 50 years, it left a lasting impression.
Armands’ family was pleasantly surprised by the campervan’s spaciousness and practicality. This vehicle allowed them to fully enjoy the benefits of a traditional camper combined with the compact size, safety, and comfortable handling of a passenger car. This time, the unforgettable journey was accident-free, much more enjoyable, and ignited a desire to repeat the “vanlife” experience.
