For travel outside the Baltic States, the rental rate includes an average of 300 kilometers per night. Any additional kilometers will incur a charge of 0.30 EUR per kilometer.
The rental price includes one driver (the lessee). If you need an additional driver, you can add one for an extra cost of 10 euros per night. Alternatively, you can choose our Silver or Gold Carefree packages, which include free additional drivers: one for Silver and up to three for Gold.
Please note that all additional drivers, along with the lead driver (lessee), must be present at the rental station before pickup. They must bring valid IDs and driver’s licenses to verify their documents and sign the necessary paperwork.

Yes, you definitely can bring your dog with you. If you don’t want to leave your faithful four-legged friend at home, you are welcome to take your small or midsize, well behaved dog with you on your trip. Why small or midsize? Sure, everyone has their own capacity, but for the sake of your well being, we don’t think it’s a good idea to travel with two labradors for an extended period of time in just 4M2, don’t you agree? Since we have to have the vehicle specially cleaned afterwards, we charge a one time fee, called a dog’s fee,” which is 79 euros. Simply add a dog’s fee in the section “Services” during your online booking. If the dog’s fee is not booked before a trip and we notice or trace unauthorized transportation of pets of any kind, it will be a violation of our terms and conditions; thus, a penalty in the amount of 500 EUR might be applied.

No. Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes or vapes, inside the vehicle is strictly forbidden. If you break this rule, we will have to charge you a 500 EUR fine to cover the cost of special cleaning and vehicle depreciation.
You are responsible for the diesel fuel required for your trip. The vehicle will be provided to you with a full tank, and we ask that you return it with a full tank as well. If, for any reason, you’re unable to do so, don’t worry—we can take care of it for a reasonable fee as outlined in our terms and conditions.
As for AdBlue, we’ve got you covered! Just remember to refill the AdBlue tank when a warning signal appears on the dashboard. Please retain the receipt or invoice, which should be issued to VanBaltic’s account, and we’ll reimburse you for the expense if it does not exceed 20 EUR. The AdBlue tank has a capacity of approximately 13 liters, which should last for about 10,000 kilometers.

Absolutly. The longer you rent, the cheaper the rental price gets. If your booking is for more than 7 nights, you get a 5% discount on the daily rental rate. For all bookings longer than 14 nights, we apply a 10% discount. Bookings of more than 21 days receive a 15% discount.The best part is that you do not have to do anything to get these discounts. All mentioned long-term discounts are automatically applied to your booking and can be combined with other discount codes, vouchers, or coupons.
They do look similar from the outside, that’s true. However, they have a few very distinct differences. First, the Ocean models are more luxurious and better equipped than the Beach. The Beach, on the other hand, has more passenger space and greater transformability. The Ocean model has significantly more “bells and whistles,” for example, an electric pop-up roof opening, while the Beach model has a manual hydrolic one. The maximum seating capacity is 4 passengers in Ocean models and 5 passengers in Beach models. While both models are ideally suited for couples and solo travelers, 3 or 4 adults can also comfortably sleep in either the Ocean or Beach models. Additionally, the Beach model can even accommodate a family with 3 small children.
If you’re a couple, a solo traveler, or a family with one child, we recommend choosing the Ocean model – the “Gold Standard” camper van. On the other hand, if you’re a group of four adults or a family with two or three children, the Beach model might be your best choice.
Of course, there’s no issue if you decide to use the maximum capacity and bring along a dog and four bicycles. However, before doing so, we strongly advise carefully considering the limited space and ensuring that the maximum permitted load capacity is not exceeded. This capacity is approximately 400 kg for the Ocean model and 500 kg for the Beach model. This weight limit includes all passengers, luggage, water tanks, and any additional equipment
Yes, it does. All our California models come with a factory-installed diesel heating system, which is operated from the control panel inside the vehicle. This is a very efficient and cost-saving heating solution compared to the gas heating systems that other bigger campers have. We can assure you, if you are well prepared, you will feel cozy even at -20 outside. Before handover, you will be given a full demonstration of how the heating system works, or you can watch it on our YouTube channel at any time.
It depends on many factors, but you will be absolutely fine to go off-grid or wild camping for 3–4 nights or more. Beach models come with one leisure battery, and Ocean models even come with two, providing you with enough power for all your essentials and gadgets whether you’re driving or camping. The most important thing and the biggest advantage of our VW campervans is that their heating systems run on the same diesel oil as their engines. Since the diesel oil tank capacity is a whopping 80 liters and diesel consumption by the factory-built-in heating systems is extremely low, you can go completely off-grid for a very long time. Besides diesel, the heating systems require a small amount of electricity to run a fuel pump; hence, after a day or two, you shall check the battery charge level. If the battery is low, you can plug it into an external source, make a short trip, or simply run the car’s engine for 20–30 minutes in combination with turbocharge to get your battery full again.
Yes, both models are equipped with one bottle of butane gas, which is exclusively used for cooking on gas hobs inside a van. Ocean has Campingaz 2.75kg of gas bottles, while Beach has 1.8kg. With regular usage and consumption, assuming that you will be cooking or grilling outside too, one bottle can easily last well up to a month or more in the case of Ocean and a bit less for Beach. Anyway, if you run out of gas, it’s no problem; you shall be able to find Campingaz gas bottle exchange points all over Europe. To make sure you are not caught by surprise by an empty bottle, we strongly recommend taking with you your own or renting from us a portable gas stove or grill, which will be super handy to use for outdoor picnics whenever the weather permits.
Inside the van, there are two 220 volt outlets. One is a 300-watt inverter socket that can be used for household electronics like charging a phone or PC at any time because it runs on a leisure battery. If you need more power, you can use another 220 volt socket, but only while you are stationary and connected to the campsite or any other electrical system by a cable that is part of the camping equipment list provided by VanBaltic.
All Ocean models come with permanent built-in fresh water and gray water systems that hold about 30 liters each. The Beach models don’t have a permanent water system built in, unless you add optional kitchen modules (Big or Small) under “extra services” in our booking system. The Big Kitchen module, which has two 12-liter fresh water tanks and 12-liter gray water tanks, is a great choice. If cooking is not your priority, you can opt for a compact kitchen module Small Kitchen that has 12 liters of fresh and gray water tanks. The best part is that all Ocean and Beach water systems can be used as outside showers by attaching the included hose and faucet. Unfortunately, none of the campervans have hot water systems.

We are very sorry that all vans are already booked on your preferred dates. First, feel free to check the reservation system again after some time, as it’s possible that a van was marked as occupied at the time of your login but wasn’t fully booked, meaning it would automatically return to the available inventory list. Second, if you’re flexible or able to wait, please send us an email specifying your preferred dates, and we will do our best to find a suitable solution for you. There is also the chance that a reservation might unexpectedly be cancelled, or a camper might become available sooner. Third, we recommend keeping an eye on the “Special Offers” section from time to time, where we list available open slots in the reservation system, as well as special pricing offers and discount vouchers.
In normal circumstances, we need at least 48 hours, or 2 days, to prepare a campervan for a trip “according to your specifications.” If you need it sooner, please contact us at [email protected] or simply WhatsApp us at +371-27006162. Please keep in mind that the full rental price must always be paid prior to handover (pickup) and is payable in full at the time of making your booking. If payment is not received for whatever reason, handovers and the signing of a rental agreement will be impossible.
Welcome to Hotel California! That’s right. Our campervans are booked and charged per night. Similar to a hotel, you pay for the number of nights you spend at our “hotel on wheels”. We even have similar “check-in” and “check-out” procedures. Our pickup “check-in” takes place in the afternoons between 2 PM and 6 PM, and our drop-off “check out” is scheduled in the morning, between 8 AM and 11 AM. Between drop-off and new check-in, our staff does whatever it takes to make sure the van is ready for the next trip, spotlessly clean, and equipped exactly to your requests and needs. This is why we call ourselves “Mobile Hospitality”.
No, you do not have to pay a booking deposit. To make a binding booking and contract, you have to pay the full rental price online at the time of booking.
You can cancel your booking anytime by simply sending us an email at [email protected]. If you cancel at least 60 days before your rental begins, we will refund the full amount with no cancellation fee and, even better, without deducting any banking or transfer costs, provided the Flex cancellation option was chosen during booking. All funds received will be returned using the same payment method that was used for your online booking. We will do our best to process your refund as quickly as possible, but please allow at least a week, as multiple banks may be involved in the transaction, or there could be a weekend delay.

Yes, you are welcome to extend your rental period. If the vehicle has not already been reserved or scheduled for maintenance, we would be happy to offer you this option. To activate the extension, you will be asked to arrange prompt payment. After receiving your payment, a new booking confirmation with new dates will be sent to you. If you would like to extend your rental, please contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone at +371-27006162, providing your reservation number, full name, and surname. This service is free of charge.
No, unfortunately, we can’t cancel optional services or extra accessories that have already been booked because we have to order them ahead of time.
You can make payments online through our reservation system, powered by Stripe, a leading payment processor that accepts all major credit and debit cards. Please note that we do not accept bank transfers or cash payments
To confirm your booking, please complete the full rental payment at the time of online booking. Once payment is made, you will receive an automatic confirmation email at the address you provided. If you do not receive this email, please contact us immediately.

No, we do not accept payments in cash.
Yes, a refundable security deposit is required before you can pick up the vehicle. This amount will be held on your credit card as an authorization and fully refunded upon the vehicle’s safe return, provided there are no damages or incidents. The deposit helps cover any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the rental period.
The security deposit amount will be pre-authorized on your credit card on the day you pick up the campervan, immediately after signing the rental agreement and before receiving the vehicle. We only accept physical Visa or MasterCard credit cards. The credit card must be issued in the name of the renter who made the reservation and signed the rental agreement. Payment cards from companions, spouses, friends, or third parties are not accepted. Deposits cannot be made via bank transfer, debit card, mobile applications, or cash. Please ensure in advance that your credit card has sufficient credit available, that you have not exceeded your bank’s daily or monthly limits, and that you know your credit card’s PIN code.
The security deposit is €1,500 and is included in the Carefree Package Basic, which is part of the rental rate. If you prefer, you can reduce the deposit to €1,000 or even as low as €800 by choosing one of our optional Carefree Packages—Silver or Gold. This adjustment can be made easily during or after your online booking, or before signing the rental agreement.
The preauthorized security deposit on your credit card will be released on the next business day after the rental vehicle and its equipment are returned, provided all items are returned in their original condition without any damage, incidents, or additional charges, fees, or penalties. For your peace of mind, we will send a notification once the preauthorization is canceled. Typically, the released funds will be available on your credit card balance within the same or next business day. In rare cases, this process may take up to a week or longer. If you encounter any issues, please contact us promptly, and we will investigate the matter immediately.
We understand that mistakes happen, and fines or tickets can be an unfortunate part of driving. If we, as the vehicle owner, receive any fines or tickets, we’ll inform you immediately.
To resolve the issue, we offer two options:
You can pick up or drop off a campervan at our rental station located at Upleju Street 7, Mārupe, LV-2167, Latvia, during your scheduled time slot. Pick-ups are available in the afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and drop-offs are scheduled in the mornings from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Sunday.
We also offer early pick-ups and late drop-offs upon request. However, please note that these options are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed at the time of booking.
Before signing the rental contract, both you and any additional drivers must present an original ID or passport along with a valid driver’s license. We will review these original documents and make copies to attach them to the rental agreement. Additionally, a credit card in the lessee’s name is required for the security deposit.
Please note that the handover process, which includes a detailed briefing, van tour, paperwork signing, and onboarding, may take up to 1.5 to 2 hours. Our vans are equipped with advanced technology, a variety of equipment, and essential camping gear, making this comprehensive introduction crucial. If the vehicle is not damaged and does not require extensive manual unloading or reloading, the return process is relatively quick and usually takes up to 30 minutes.
No, we want to make sure you don’t spend unnecessary time waiting. Based on our schedule and availability, we’ll arrange a specific pickup time between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. A few days before your trip, we’ll reach out to confirm the exact time slot for your van handover.
To provide greater flexibility, we’re pleased to offer early pickup and late drop-off options, subject to availability and an additional fee, typically 50–70% of the nightly rate. If you’d like to request one of these services, please select “Early Pickup / Late Drop-Off” during the online booking process and specify your preferred times in the “Special Requests” box before completing payment. We’ll review our schedule and make every effort to accommodate your request.
If you wish to pick up your van outside of regular working hours, let us know. We will make every effort to accommodate your specific needs if this does not interfere with other customers schedules or our operational maintenance plans.
Yes, we do! Best of all, it’s free. Our location is very close to Riga International Airport, making transfers easy and convenient. When booking, simply select “free airport transfer” under the “Services” section, and we’ll arrange to pick you up around 15 minutes before your scheduled campervan handover (pickup) time. If needed, we can also drop you back at the airport after your trip.
For late arrivals who plan to stay overnight at nearby hotels, we can pick you up from your hotel at an agreed time before your scheduled pickup. If you arrive in the late afternoon or evening and we’re unable to provide early pickup, we recommend spending the night at one of Riga’s Old Town hotels. This way, you can enjoy a morning walk to explore the city’s history before taking a reasonably priced Bolt taxi to our station in the afternoon for your scheduled pickup.
Yes, you can leave your car with us. It is free of charge. All vehicles left at our station are left at the owners’ own risk. We take no responsibility for your property damage or loss.
No, we do not offer such services.
You have to return your campervan at the agreed time to the VanBaltic rental station, at address Upleju Street 7, Marupe, LV-2167, between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., Monday through Sunday. If something unexpected happens, which could affect your ability to arrive on time, you have to get in touch with us immediately and inform us about the problem and your new expected arrival time. If you don’t return the campervan in the scheduled time slot, it could have a knock-on effect on the next reservations, which could lead to penalties and extra costs. The size of the contractual penalty is determined by how many hours or days the return (drop-off) is actually delayed. Full details on contractual penalties can be found in our terms and conditions.
After the end of your trip, we will take care of the exterior washing ourselves, and this is always included in your rental fee. However, if the camper is returned extremely dirty—with excessive mud or dirt, dried insect stains on the hood and windshield, or if the condition of the wheels and underbody indicates off-road use—an additional exterior cleaning fee of €20 may apply to cover the extra cleaning costs.
Interior cleaning is an optional service that can be booked online or by phone at least two days before returning the camper or at specialized detailing salons. If booked in advance, the service costs €55. Alternatively, you can clean it yourself, provided you have the appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies. If you choose not to use our cleaning service, please ensure that the vehicle and all equipment are returned in the same condition as received.
This means the camper’s interior—including the floor, walls, ceiling, carpets, storage areas, pop-up roof, kitchen facilities, cabinets, glass surfaces, and windows—should be thoroughly cleaned: swept, vacuumed, and treated with appropriate protective products. All rental equipment should be returned clean and dry.
Upon vehicle return, our team will assess the interior cleanliness on a five-level scale, where 1 signifies ideal cleanliness and 5 indicates a very dirty condition. If the cleanliness level does not meet our standards (a rating of 1 or at least 2), our team will perform the cleaning on your behalf. In such cases, an interior cleaning fee starting at €60 and potentially reaching up to €150, depending on the level of dirtiness, will apply.
To save time and avoid additional costs, we strongly recommend that you pre-book our cleaning service. Our professional team will complete the job efficiently and to high standards, typically within approximately two hours.
Absolutely. Please only note that automated car washes are not allowed, as awnings can be severely damaged. Please use hand wash car washes only.
If you choose to do it by yourself, please ensure that the vehicle and all equipment are returned in the same condition as received.

To avoid additional charges or penalties, the portable toilet and both (fresh and gray) water tanks must be empty and clean before returning back to our station.
All new damages will be recorded and photographed. Full details of the damage will be duly added to the drop-off protocol. Depending on the size of the new damage, and especially in the case of substantial damage, we may lock your security deposit until we get a cost estimate from an authorized dealership. In the event of small or casual damage, we have a fixed price list, and normally it should not delay repayment of the security deposit to your credit card. Please be aware that you are contractually obligated to report to us any new damage immediately after it has been witnessed or noticed. Failing to report in a timely manner, or making an attempt to conceal it, may result in very substantial penalties.
Yes, all our vehicles come with full insurance coverage, including third-party liability (MTPL) and fully comprehensive (CASCO) policies. Your rental includes the Basic Carefree Package, with a €1,500 deductible and a €1,500 security deposit. For added peace of mind, you can choose a Silver or Gold Carefree Package to reduce your deductible and deposit and have more cover. Travel worry-free with our fully insured campervans and select the protection level that best fits your needs.
A deductible (also called “excess”) is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket for a claim before your insurance coverage begins. For example, if your deductible is €300 and the repair costs €1,500, you would pay €300, and the insurance would cover the remaining €1,200.
In a rental context, the deductible applies to each incident or claim. Your rental rate already includes comprehensive insurance (CASCO) with a €1,500 deductible per incident. This deductible applies to each insurance claim, regardless of who was at fault, whether you or a third party. Non-Covered or Uninsured Damage: Damage due to negligence, vandalism, misuse, or improper operation—including damage to the interior, equipment, underbody, tires, rims, windows, awning, or pop-up roofs—is not insured and is not subject to the deductible limit. You are fully responsible for all expenses for repairing or rectify such damage. To extend your insurance coverage and limit your potential costs by applying a deductible, please consider upgrading your Carefree Package.
Theft or Total Loss: In the event of theft or total loss, you are liable for 15% of the vehicle’s total value, including accessories. If the original registration documents and/or keys are lost and the vehicle is subsequently stolen, you will be responsible for the full value of the vehicle and accessories. To avoid this risk, always keep keys and documents secure.
Can I reduce my deductible?
Yes! Your rental includes our Basic Carefree package with a €1,500 deductible per claim. To lower your liability, you can upgrade to our Silver or Gold Carefree packages:
If an accident has occurred or your vehicle has been damaged, please contact us immediately via phone at +371-27006162, WhatsApp, or email. Notification should be made within 24 hours of the incident if it is not physically possible to do so immediately.
In case of a road traffic accident (RTA):
Please do not admit liability or make settlements with third parties. The police report, photos, and other information should be sent to [email protected] or via WhatsApp as soon as possible. If the report or documentation is delayed or incomplete, a contractual penalty may apply, and in the case of insurance refusal, all costs and losses will be fully borne by you.
If damages occur without third-party involvement:
We really want you to have fun and enjoy your adventure to the max, but we also expect you to respect our campervans and everything inside them as if they were your own. Regrettably, some things, like the interior as well as all rental equipment and camping staff, are not insured. We completely understand that anything can happen, so don’t worry. Simply contact us at the first opportunity, tell us what happened, and we will certainly find the best solution to any problem. The sooner you get in touch with us, the greater is the chance to limit the loss and trouble for you down the road.
First, stop operating the car and check the owner’s manual. If this does not help solve the problem, please get in touch with us. Again, don’t worry; all our vans are new vehicles with full factory warranty and 24/7 VW roadside assistance services across Europe. Phone number of roadside assistance services you will find in the glove box and pick up protocol. On top of that, we have insurance coverage. There is really no point in worrying too much.
First, immediately call the police. Second, call us at +371-27006162. Take as many photos as possible of the incident scene and record the damage. Acknowledge all possible witnesses. Obtain their names and contact details. Do not make any admission of liability to other parties, settlement offer, or other like offer. The police report and your own report, as well as any additional information like photos and contact details of witnesses, shall be sent to [email protected] as soon as possible. Failing to report in time or providing insufficient documentation will result in the application of a contractual penalty and all costs being borne in full by you without limitation of liability.

Yes, we do! Best of all, it’s free. Our location is very close to Riga International Airport, making transfers easy and convenient. When booking, simply select “free airport transfer” under the “Services” section, and we’ll arrange to pick you up around 15 minutes before your scheduled campervan handover (pickup) time. If needed, we can also drop you back at the airport after your trip.
For late arrivals who plan to stay overnight at nearby hotels, we can pick you up from your hotel at an agreed time before your scheduled pickup. If you arrive in the late afternoon or evening and we’re unable to provide early pickup, we recommend spending the night at one of Riga’s Old Town hotels. This way, you can enjoy a morning walk to explore the city’s history before taking a reasonably priced Bolt taxi to our station in the afternoon for your scheduled pickup.
Yes, we can provide free parking for your car for the whole duration of your trip at our premises. Please be aware that vehicles and any valuables inside them are left at the owners’ risk.
Yes, you can bring your dog with you. If you don’t want to leave your faithful four-legged friend at home, you are welcome to take your small or midsize, well behaved dog with you on your trip. Why small or midsize? Sure, everyone has their own capacity, but for the sake of your well being, we don’t think it’s a good idea to travel with two labradors for an extended period of time in just 4M2, don’t you agree? Please remember that when you are traveling with a dog, it’s important to protect the seats and the dog’s sleeping area from dirt and debris. Dogs are not allowed in the pop-up roof bed. Also, the master is always responsible for possible damage to the campervan interior or exterior as the result of the dog’s bad behavior, habits, and hygiene. Since we have to have the vehicle specially cleaned afterwards, we charge a one time fee, called a dog’s fee, which is 79 euros. Simply add a dog’s fee in the section “Services” during your online booking. If the dog’s fee is not booked before a trip and we notice or trace unauthorized transportation of pets of any kind, it will be a violation of our terms and conditions; thus, a penalty in the amount of 500 EUR might be applied.
The rental price includes one driver (the lessee). If you need an additional driver, you can add one for an extra cost of 10 euros per night. Alternatively, you can choose our Silver or Gold Carefree packages, which include free additional drivers: one for Silver and up to three for Gold.
Please note that all additional drivers, along with the lead driver (lessee), must be present at the rental station before pickup. They must bring valid IDs and driver’s licenses to verify their documents and sign the necessary paperwork.
All drivers must have a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years and be at least 23 years old. Another restriction is a maximum of five drivers for VW California Beach models and a maximum of four for Ocean models.

Absolutely! All of VW’s California campervans can be equipped with a bike rack that can safely accommodate up to four bikes. We are offering an ingenious Thule bike rack that is mounted on the tow bar in the back and that allows free and easy access to the rear trunk of the van while it is fully loaded. If you need extra space for luggage, on a bike rack we can install a 300-liter cargo box that can carry up to 50 kg of your oversized luggage, and there is still space for one bike.
